HAMI NEPALI GLOBAL HERO AWARD 2025, NEW YORK
The Hami Nepali Global Hero Award 2025 is an annual event meant to recognize and honor the outstanding Nepali who has contributed significantly towards the global community. It will serve as a motivation for future generations of Nepali leaders, as well as showcase the positive contributions of Nepalese worldwide.
The award ceremony generally consists of a star-studded event with performances, speeches, and award presentations. The event is attended by renowned Nepali personalities, global leaders, and members of the Nepali diaspora.
This year’s event is scheduled to take place at the Melrose Ballroom in New York on July 27, 2025.

Given to that character of person who spent all their lives serving other people through volunteering, donations, or social activism.

This award that receive much attention from the public and showcase the most recognized works or individuals.

In today’s world, which is plagued by natural disasters and heading toward war, it is rare to find individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others and wishing for the well-being of every living being—including both humans and nature—while praying for peace across the globe. Nowadays, most people are focused solely on their own and their family’s advancement. But there are also a few individuals who dedicate their lives for the welfare of others.
Among such rare individuals is a woman who, through her sweet voice and kind words, is spreading the message of Buddha and peace throughout the world. The songs she sings have found a special place in the hearts of every Nepali. With her voice, she has successfully collaborated with renowned creators from various parts of the world to spread Buddha’s message. In Nepal, she has selflessly extended support to many suffering individuals, driven by pure compassion.
Her powerful words and teachings have touched not only people in Nepal but also millions abroad. Just like her peaceful face, her songs also carry a deep sweetness.
Kulman Ghising
Not long ago, Nepal faced 18 hours of daily power outages, plunging the nation into darkness. Life was unbearable until a visionary leader stepped forward. With fearless determination and honesty, he ended corruption in the energy sector and brought light to every home.
He revealed that Nepal had enough electricity to meet its needs. Under his leadership, the country was freed from years of power outages, and light returned to every home. His work proved that with an honest and capable leader in the right position, a nation can thrive.
Even today, he continues to enhance efficiency and inspire hope across the country. It is our great privilege to honor him for his extraordinary contributions.
Gyanendra Shahi
Many voices are raised against social chaos and irregularities, but only a few sustain their efforts. While some activists support the people’s demands temporarily, others dedicate their lives to the cause. Advocating consistently for the rights and interests of the country and its people requires immense courage, passion, and resilience in the face of countless challenges.
Those who persevere, undeterred by obstacles, become true icons and inspirations for the youth. Among them is a social activist and leader who continues to champion the rights of the people.
Sanjaya Shrestha
Emerging in the 90s as part of a groundbreaking musical group, he captivated audiences across generations with his distinctive style, quickly becoming a household name.
His unwavering dedication to music is reflected in his continued release of hit songs, his efforts to introduce new talent into the group, and his captivating performances on both national and international stages. Beyond performing, he has showcased his versatility by composing music and background scores for over 100 Nepali films and creating more than 2,000 commercials.
Sabitra Bhandari (Samba)
Sports serve as a powerful bridge, uniting Nepalese both at home and abroad. Playgrounds and social media often highlight moments of unprecedented support from Nepalese around the world.
Recently, a female athlete brought immense joy and pride to the nation with her outstanding performance. Her name, now etched in the hearts of all Nepalese, serves as a source of inspiration. Representing Nepal on the international stage, she continues to excel by joining renowned clubs and delivering remarkable performances.

Even in this digital and social media era, music, songs, and stories hold profound significance. The heartfelt creations of lyricists and storytellers transport us to unseen worlds. The ability to captivate through writing is a unique gift of literary artists.
Coming from a humble village in Nepal and continuing to create meaningful literary works while living abroad is no easy feat. Yet, it takes remarkable dedication to preserve one’s cultural roots and transform real-life experiences into powerful stories and poetry.
Today, we honor a Nepali individual who, despite residing in a foreign land, remains deeply committed to Nepali literature. His numerous published works have earned prestigious awards and recognition. Beyond his writing, he is also a devoted social worker, standing with fellow Nepalis both in Nepal and abroad.
During the global crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, his exceptional work “Corona Katha” resonated deeply, touching the hearts of many.
Keshab Raj Seadie
For over 25 years, Keshab Raj Seadie has stood as a pillar of strength for South Asian immigrants, guiding more than 100,000 individuals—especially Nepalese—toward their American dreams. As a former United Nations professional in New York and Croatia, he brought his expertise to the global stage. But it was his deep-rooted passion for justice that led him to become one of the most influential Nepali-American immigration attorneys of our time.
His legal expertise extends beyond the courtroom—through Khasokhas, he has been a trusted voice, providing crucial immigration guidance to Nepalese across the United States. Yet, his impact goes far beyond legal victories. He is a philanthropist at heart, donating generously to countless community events and personally raising over $50,000 for earthquake victims in Nepal. His love for his homeland never wavered—he built a school in Chiti, Lamjung, and has funded the salaries of teachers for the past five years, ensuring education for future generations.
For those who arrive in Manhattan seeking hope, he is the answer. From Lamjung to New York, from zero to hero, Keshab Raj Seadie has proven that if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere!

However, in our country, some newspapers and journalists align themselves with political parties and leaders, prioritizing personal and financial interests over truth. Finding bold and fearless journalists who speak out at the right time is rare.
In such a landscape, one journalist and television host stands out for his fearless questioning of relevant individuals and leaders, regardless of time or place. His direct and assertive approach often draws criticism, yet it has only amplified his influence. Undeterred by satire or controversy, he continues to ask tough questions, driven by the belief that “the public wants to know.”
Today, we are proud to honor him for his fearless journalism and unique style. The Hami Nepali Global Hero Award in the Journalism category is presented to Mr. Rishi Dhamala.

In today’s world, millions of Nepalese endure hardships while pursuing education and working in foreign lands to earn a livelihood. It is well known that these Nepalese frequently face various challenges and struggle to overcome them. Even now, there is a lack of organizations that step forward to assist such Nepalese in times of difficulty abroad.
However, an organization established by Nepali women in the United States has been tirelessly working on this issue. For the past two decades, this organization has been advocating for the rights and interests of low-income individuals. In addition to raising their voices for Nepali speakers, the organization fosters leadership awareness among them and advocates for social justice and human rights. By empowering women with leadership awareness, this organization provides every Nepali woman with a warm and welcoming sense of belonging.
Despite being in a foreign land, the efforts of this Nepali women’s organization in carrying out such social work are a matter of pride for Nepalese worldwide. On this historic occasion, it is an honor to recognize such a remarkable organization. The Hami Nepali Global Hero Award 2025 proudly presents the Best Organization award to the Adhikaar Foundation.
